Increasing Function

When the curve or line of a function rises, the function is described as increasing.

The slope of an increasing function is positive.


Decreasing Function

When the curve or line of a function falls, the function is described as decreasing.

The slope of a decreasing function is negative.


Constant Function

When the line of a function is horizontal, the function is described as constant.

The slope of a constant function is 0.
